Smart tips to win argument

Smart tips to win argument

1) Art of Questioning:

You need to ask the other person or your opponent a series of questions in such a way that their answers ultimately lead to a conclusion which aligns with what you wish to say. This way, you'll make your opponent say what you are trying to imply by simply putting words in their mouth, mostly they will believe the final outcome of argument is there own idea.

2) False choice:

If you wish to get your way with the other person, present them with a situation or problem in such a way that they believe there are only two or three possible outcomes to it, whereas in reality there are more then enough. This way, whichever one options they pick, it will be in your favour.

3) People's emotion:

Humans are emotional creatures, and this is what differentiates them from others. So use this in your stride by connecting with them on an emotional level, instead of being logical while arguing. In most cases, people get carried away with emotions and forget logical reasoning. This will make them agree to your point of view.

4) Red Box Trick:

Another common trick used by many people to win arguments is to bring up unrelated issues instead of focussing on the main problem while arguing. This deviates people from the main problem, thus distracting people and pushing the main problem under the rug for the time being.

5) The power of silence:

If you believe that your opponent is being sly and lying then instead of arguing with them, just stay quiet. This will make them uncomfortable and might lead them to over-explain themselves thus revealing the truth or their weaknesses.

6) Making personal attacks (don't use this trick):

In this, instead of focussing on the argument, a person criticises their opponent who initiated the argument by targeting their flaws or character. This distracts the person who began the argument. It also shifts the a person's focus from the argument to other trivial issues.

7) Slippery slope:

In this, when someone brings up a problem or an argument, instead of answering the questions the other person keeps making the situation bad with a series of increasingly worse argument about related or unrelated subjects. One argument leads to another worse argument, and it keeps going on without a solution and in the end the original argument is no where to be found.

8) Appeal to higher existence:

In this type of argument, a person seeks the views of another well-known person or high profile person or God level existence to support their point of view. However, this person of higher authority might not always be related on the topic.

9) Straw man argument:

The idea is to twist other's arguments in such a way that makes it easier to attack them. Simply put, it means tweaking and using other's words in your favour.
